Fighting to protect Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF)

We’re fighting to protect the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program — because behind every loan is a real person making sacrifices to serve others.

Take Jenn. A single mom in a rural town, she chose not to rely on public assistance. Instead, she took out $60,000 in student loans to become a clinical social worker — so she could care for people facing trauma, addiction, and poverty.

Thanks to PSLF, Jenn is able to stay in that vital role. She works full-time, raises two kids, and shows up every day for her community — even when she struggles to afford groceries or keep up with rising living costs.

Jenn’s not alone. Thousands of physicians, nurses, and first responders made the same choice: to serve.

PSLF isn’t a giveaway. It’s a lifeline — and a promise that public servants won’t be punished for choosing purpose over profit. We urged the Department of Education to protect and strengthen PSLF. Because when we invest in people like Jenn, we invest in all of us. Learn more about the proposed ruling here.
